N 13K Gallon Acid Tank Car RPBX (ATHG-1481)

The N 13K Gallon Acid Tank Car, RPBX #23201 is a finely detailed model that brings authenticity to any N Scale railroad layout. This tank car features Type F “double shelf” McHenry couplers, which are body-mounted for added realism and are a first for N Scale models. Enhanced realism is achieved with rubber trainline hoses and full underbody details, including brake and train line piping.

The model is designed with two different body phases reflective of early and late prototypes. It accurately represents different brake systems as appropriate for the respective prototype being modeled. Additionally, the car is weighted to meet NMRA RP-20.1 recommended practices for operational reliability.

Equipped with machined metal wheels that feature RP25 contours, this model operates smoothly on Code 40, 55, and 80 track. This acid tank car boasts separately applied metal grab irons and handrails, as well as coupler cut levers for an authentic look. Etched stainless steel crossover platforms and distinct top and end sills as per the prototype further enhance the model’s fidelity.
