HO GP7u Locomotive with DCC & Sound FCEN #57 (ATHG-1501)

HO GP7u Locomotive with DCC & Sound, FCEN #57 is a highly detailed HO-scale GP7u diesel designed for authentic switching and yard work on a model railroad. This sound-equipped version uses an onboard DCC decoder with SoundTraxx Tsunami2 sound and dual cube speakers to reproduce engine rumble, horn, and bell, with engine, horn, and bell sounds working in DC as well as DCC. It delivers precise slow-speed control and a full suite of NMRA-compatible functions that can be programmed via CVs; a CV chart is included for quick setup. DCC-ready Quick Plug technology with a 21-pin NEM connector makes layout installation straightforward for DCC-equipped layouts.

FCEN-specific details include a blanked-dynamic body with a cab-mounted headlight, four exhaust stacks, and a Nathan P5 horn on a bracket, plus a large Sinclair antenna and ground plane for prototype-like appeal. The locomotive rides on a heavy die-cast frame for improved traction and pulling power, with RP25 wheels that roll smoothly on most hobby tracks, see-through cab windows and a full cab interior, etched radiator and fan grilles, and scale-looking handrails. Body-mounted McHenry scale knuckle couplers (Kadee-compatible) round out the authentic presentation, while all-wheel electrical pickup helps keep power steady on longer trains and busy yards.
