An HO-scale model of the ACF 4600 Center-Flow covered hopper, designed to haul grain and other bulk loads on HO layouts. This three-bay hopper is offered as a detailed injection-molded plastic kit with authentic variants: early configurations with a high-side ladder and brake wheel, mid versions with a lower brake wheel and shorter ladders at both ends, and late versions featuring double side stiffeners. The kit includes round or trough hatches, a photo-etched metal roofwalk, and separately applied wire grab irons, stirrup steps, and brake wheel, plus a separate brake cylinder, valve and air reservoir with wire-brake plumbing. It rides on screw-mounted trucks with body-mounted knuckle couplers and is weighted for smooth, reliable operation, with a finish that’s accurately painted and printed to resemble prototype equipment. The design supports an 18-inch minimum radius for typical HO layouts.

The model is primed for grime, offering a ready-to-weather surface that recreates the look of in-service equipment with faded, matched base colors and a starting point for adding grime and rust. Together, these features yield a faithful 1960s-era Center Flow hopper that captures both form and function, making it a versatile addition to grain yards and freight trains on HO-scale layouts.
