ACF 4600 Center Flow Covered Hopper — Primed for Grime is an N-scale model that recreates American Car and Foundry’s classic 3-bay Center Flow hopper used for grain and bulk loads. The primed-for-grime finish mirrors the weathered look of in-service equipment, with faded, dull base colors that provide a ready starting point for adding grime and rust on a layout.

Three body styles reflect the era, from early with a high side ladder and brake wheel to late with double side stiffeners, while round or trough hatches, a photo-etched roofwalk, detailed outlets, and a separately applied brake wheel add to realism. Screw-mounted 100-ton trucks ride on 36-inch machined metal wheels and the car uses body-mounted McHenry scale knocker couplers. It is weighted for smooth operation and finished with accurate paint and printing on a highly detailed injection-molded body. A minimum turning radius of 9¾ inches keeps it reliable on tight curves. The 3-bay Center Flow design, introduced in the mid-1960s, is built for grain service and gravity unloading, with a capacity of about 4600 cubic feet and compatibility with tight clearances on light branchlines and industrial routes.
