N ACF4600 Covered Hopper FURX Primed For Grime Model (ATHG-1556)

ACF 4600 Center-Flow Covered Hopper, Primed for Grime, is a detailed HO-scale model that recreates the mid-1960s grain-hauler from American Car and Foundry. Representing the widely used three-bay Center Flow hopper, it features a rounded body designed for gravity unloading, round or trough hatches, a photo-etched metal roofwalk, and finely detailed outlets with a separately applied brake wheel for authentic in-service appearance.

Riding on screw-mounted 100-ton trucks with 36-inch machined metal wheels and body-mounted McHenry knuckle couplers, the model is weighted for smooth running and finished with accurate paint and printing to mirror prototype appearance. The Primed for Grime finish duplicates the look of in-service equipment, with faded and dull base colors matched to the prototype and ready for adding grime and rust. The 3-bay Center Flow design, introduced in the mid-1960s, was built to handle grain and similar bulk loads and remains a familiar sight on many grain trains today.
