HO F3A/F3B Locomotives Passenger Grade Northern Freight Models (ATHG-1628)

HO F3A/F3B Locomotives Passenger Grade Northern Freight Models (ATHG-1628)

HO-scale F3A/F3B Locomotives designed for passenger service, available in Great Northern and related roadnames, bring authentic late-era diesel power to HO layouts. These F-unit diesels combine a heavy die-cast frame with RP25 wheel contours and a Genesis-style driveline for smooth, quiet operation. They feature see-through cab windows with a full interior, directional LED lighting, and a wealth of scale detailing—from etched metal grills to wire grab irons. Body-mounted knuckle couplers are Kadee-compatible for realistic handling, and a plug-and-play DCC-ready interface simplifies digital upgrades. With all-wheel electrical pickup and prototype-accurate paint schemes, these models deliver reliable performance and a convincing presence on standard HO track, even at modest radii.

Sound-equipped variants add an onboard DCC decoder with SoundTraxx Tsunami2, delivering engine, horn, and bell sounds that work on both DC and DCC layouts. Dual speakers and separate sound boards in the A and B units provide rich, authentic audio, while NMRA-compatible functions allow CV-based tuning in DCC mode. Roadname-specific details reflect prototype differences found on GN, CS, and DRGW locomotives, including horn configurations, beacons or Gyralights, and pilot treatments. The models are finished in accurately painted schemes with plenty of detail parts, and the solid construction emphasizes traction and durability for long-lasting operation on busy HO layouts, whether pulling passenger trains or mixed-traffic consists.
