HO P42DC Locomotive AMTK Phase IV NEC #101 (ATHG-1671)

HO-scale Amtrak P42DC Genesis locomotive in Phase IV Northeast Corridor livery, unit #101. This officially licensed Amtrak model faithfully recreates the Genesis diesel used on Amtrak’s long-distance and push-pull services, and it offers four nose variations—Amtrak as-built with strobes, Amtrak as-built without strobes, Amtrak rebuilt, and Via Rail Canada—to mirror different eras. Ready-to-run and designed for HO-scale passenger layouts, it brings authentic NEC power and a distinctive presence to any railroad scene.

Built for both display and operation, the model features LED headlights, operating ditch lights and marker lights, lit number boards, and rich underbody detail. It rides on a redesigned die-cast frame with all-wheel drive and RP25 wheels, and uses McHenry knuckle couplers (Kadee-compatible). DCC-ready versions accept a 21-pin NEM decoder, while sound-equipped variants pair a Tsunami2 decoder with dual speakers for engine, horn, and bell sounds. Radius recommendations are 18 inches minimum (22 inches preferred), with road-number variations including Phase IV NEC scheme for #101 and other configurations such as different antenna layouts and nose options.
