HO P42DC Locomotive Amtrak Phase IV Heritage #164 (ATHG-1674)

HO Scale Amtrak Phase IV Heritage P42DC Locomotive No. 164 is a detailed, ready-to-run model of GE’s Genesis passenger locomotive, faithfully rendered in Amtrak’s Phase IV heritage livery for HO layouts. Sized for model railroading, it brings authentic Amtrak power to layouts that recreate both long-distance and everyday intercity service with convincing detail and presence.

Unit 164 features a PTC antenna farm with a box platform, while other nose variations reproduce Amtrak as-built, rebuilt, and Via configurations. Lighting includes LED headlights, ditch lights, and front/rear marker lights, with lit number boards and, on equipped versions, a flashing strobe and central emergency light. The model sits on a redesigned die-cast frame with a Genesis driveline for smooth, all-wheel operation and reliable electrical pickup, plus detailed undercarriage, flexible MU hoses, and wire handrails. McHenry scale knuckle couplers (Kadee-compatible) and RP25 wheels ensure compatibility with common HO track. Available in DCC-ready form with Quick Plug and a 21-pin NEM connector, and in Tsunami2 sound-equipped versions, it can run on DC or DCC with CVs to tailor performance. It’s ready to run out of the box, with a minimum radius of 18 inches (22 inches recommended) for best results on curves.
