HO-scale P42DC Locomotive, Amtrak Phase VII #174 — a highly detailed, ready-to-run HO model of Amtrak’s Genesis-era locomotive. Officially licensed by Amtrak, it faithfully reproduces Phase VII units and their characteristic nose configurations and antenna layouts, including variations seen on Amtrak and Via Rail Canada locomotives.

Under the hood, the model features a Genesis driveline with a 5-pole motor, all-wheel drive, and a redesigned die-cast frame for strong traction, plus RP25 wheel contours for smooth tracking. Realistic lighting includes LED headlights, ditch lights, and marker lights, with features such as lit number boards and separately applied wire handrails and a photo-etched radiator grille adding to the scale detail. The DCC-ready Quick Plug 21-pin interface enables easy decoder installation, and sound-equipped versions use a Tsunami2 decoder with dual speakers for authentic engine, horn, and bell sounds and full NMRA DCC functionality. It is ready to run out of the box, and designed for 18-inch minimum radius curves (22 inches recommended).
