HO-scale Amtrak P42DC locomotive with DCC and Sound in the Veterans livery brings Amtrak's Genesis-era power to life on a home layout. Officially licensed and richly detailed, this model reproduces the Genesis fleet with multiple nose variations to reflect prototype history. Equipped with a SoundTraxx Tsunami2 sound decoder and dual speakers, it delivers authentic engine, horn, and bell sounds, while LED headlights, ditch lights, and marker lights illuminate the locomotive for realistic operation on both DC and DCC layouts.

Built for realism and performance, the locomotive features a robust five-pole motor, precision flywheels, and a redesigned die-cast frame for strong, smooth pulling power. Under the shell lies detailed underbody piping, air filters, and air dryer, plus separately applied handrails and other fine touches. It uses McHenry scale knuckle couplers (Kadee-compatible), all-wheel electrical pickup, and RP25 wheels for reliable tracking. The DCC-ready design with Quick Plug provides full DCC functionality, with a CV chart included for tuning.
