It captures the Amtrak Phase III look with a detailed cab interior, richly detailed undercarriage, and a robust die-cast frame for solid operation, while LED headlights, marker lights, and ditch lights illuminate the realism. The Phase III nose variations are faithfully represented to mirror the real Amtrak units.

Inside, a Tsunami2 sound decoder powers engine, horn, and bell sounds through dual speakers, with full DCC functionality and NMRA compatibility. The model runs on both DC and DCC and features McHenry scale knuckle couplers (Kadee-compatible), RP25 wheel contours, and all-wheel electrical pickup for smooth, reliable performance. It ships ready to run with a 21-pin NMRA DCC plug-and-play connector, and a CV chart is included for tuning. Minimum recommended radii are 18 inches (22 inches preferred) to accommodate the long nose and detailed exterior.
