HO-scale Amtrak Genesis P42DC Locomotive with DCC & Sound, Phase V #142 is an officially licensed Amtrak-painted model of GE’s Genesis passenger locomotive, built for authentic operation on a modern passenger-train layout. This ready-to-run HO model features DCC with SoundTraxx Tsunami2 sound for lifelike engine, horn, and bell effects, complemented by LED headlights, ditch lights, and marker lights for realistic signaling. Road number 142 reflects Phase V styling with a PTC antenna farm, and multiple nose variations mirror as-built, rebuilt, and Via Rail appearances for a faithful representation of Amtrak’s Genesis roster.

On the rails, the locomotive combines a die-cast frame for strong tractive effort with a Genesis driveline, including a 5-pole skew-wound motor, precision flywheels, and a multi-link drivetrain for smooth, quiet operation. It features McHenry scale knuckle couplers (Kadee-compatible), RP25 wheels, and detailed underbody elements such as piping, air filters, and an air dryer. DCC-ready models use Quick Plug plug-and-play technology with a 21-pin NMRA connector, while sound-equipped versions deliver dual speakers and full DCC functionality, including coordinated headlights, ditch lights, and markers.
