HO F3A/F3B Locomotive Set with DCC and Sound, Freight FEC #503 and #552, is an HO-scale two-unit pairing that recreates GM EMD’s classic F‑unit diesel locomotives used on North American freight trains. The A and B units come with onboard DCC decoders and SoundTraxx Tsunami2 sound, plus dual cube speakers, delivering authentic engine, horn, and bell sounds on both DC and DCC layouts. Built for real-world operation, the models ride on a heavy die-cast frame with all-wheel drive, feature see-through cab windows and a full cab interior, and use directional LEDs to keep the locomotive looking convincing as it moves. Wiring is simplified by Quick Plug plug-and-play technology and a 21-pin NEM connector for easy setup.

Detailing mirrors the prototype with etched metal fan grilles, separately applied detail parts, a detailed fuel tank, and body-mounted scale knuckle couplers compatible with Kadee. The A and B units house individual sound boards, so each unit can produce engine, horn, and bell sounds, with sounds active in DC and NMRA-compliant in DCC; some functions are limited in DC. The set is designed for HO layouts with an 18" minimum radius (22" recommended) and features RP25 wheels for smooth operation, a robust five-pole drive for traction, and a heavy frame for stability. It’s primed for weathering and grime to create a lived-in appearance, and road-name variations like FEC, ATSF, LN, MKT, SNCT, and CRIP reflect prototypical detail.
