HO GP40-2 Locomotive DRGW #3100 is a detailed HO-scale reproduction of EMD's GP40-2 diesel, designed to power mainline freights, locals, and yard work on a model railroad. This road-number specific model captures prototype details such as the early-body chickenwire grilles, lit number boards and class lights, a cab beacon, ditch lights, and a Nathan P3 horn on the long hood, with a front plow on selected variants. Inside, the cab is visible through see-through windows and features a full interior, complemented by Celcon handrails, etched fan grilles, and a detailed fuel tank with gauges and breather pipes. The locomotive rides on Blomberg M or Blomberg B trucks with bearing caps, uses body-mounted McHenry scale knuckle couplers compatible with Kadee, and features a Genesis five-pole motor, precision flywheels, and a multi-link drivetrain for smooth, quiet operation.
