Rio Grande GP40-2 Locomotive, DRGW 3121 (HO Scale) is a detailed model that faithfully reproduces the GP40-2 diesel used by the Rio Grande in the early 1970s. Built to reflect the dash-2 era with a modular electrical cabinet, the livery and road number presentation capture the prototype’s distinctive look for authentic mainline scenes or diorama displays.

The model is engineered for smooth, reliable operation on HO layouts thanks to a Genesis driveline featuring a 5-pole motor, precision flywheels, and all-wheel electrical pickup, with LED lighting and lit number boards (and cab lights where applicable) for realistic visibility. It rides on a heavy die-cast frame and includes fine-scale details such as see-through cab windows with a full interior and etched fan grilles.
