This classic diesel paired a 16‑cylinder turbocharged engine with the dash‑2 modular electrical cabinet, designed for high-horsepower mainline service and versatile yard work. The model captures those design cues with realistic proportions, see‑through cab windows, lit number boards and marque lighting, fine Celcon handrails, etched fan grills, and a heavy die-cast frame for authentic traction. Available in multiple road-name schemes, it’s offered in non-sound and sound-equipped variants, with DCC-ready Quick Plug technology and a 21‑pin NEM decoder interface to simplify setup, all finished in prototype-accurate paint for convincing on-layout presence.

Designed for smooth operation on HO layouts, this GP40-2 rides on an 18-inch minimum radius and uses a robust construction for reliable pulling power. It features body‑mounted scale knuckle couplers (Kadee-compatible), RP25 wheel contours for compatibility with popular track, and LED lighting for realistic operating cues.
