HO F89F Bi-Level Auto Rack (ATHG-1778)

This HO-scale Bi-Level Auto Rack model recreates the classic Whitehead and Kales auto rack for HO layouts. It pairs a die-cast underframe with a highly detailed injection-molded body, wire-formed brake plumbing, and authentic paint and lettering to capture prototype realism. End bridge plates are included where applicable, along with separately applied wire grab irons, a detailed deck, and authentic safety railing to round out the look and feel of a true auto rack.

For operation, the model rides on machined metal wheels with RP25 contours and 70-ton roller bearing trucks that feature animated rotating bearing caps. Body-mounted McHenry scale double-shelf knuckle couplers provide reliable coupling. Prototypical ride height, undulating safety railing, and features like hand brakes, trainline hoses, brake hoses, and coupler lift bars add extra realism. A minimum turning radius of 22 inches is recommended, with 24 inches or larger preferred for smooth operation on typical HO-track layouts.
