HO GEN SD50 Locomotive BO #8595 (ATHG-1835)

HO-scale Genesis EMD SD50 locomotive in Baltimore & Ohio Chessie System livery, road number 8595. This ATHEARN model faithfully recreates EMD’s 3,500-horsepower SD50 from the early 1980s and is designed to bring authentic presence and reliable operation to HO-scale layouts.

From the ground up, the model features new tooling, a detailed cab interior, see-through cab windows, a heavy die-cast frame, and LED lighting with operating class lights. It uses all-wheel electrical pickup with body-mounted scale knuckle couplers and is DCC-ready with Quick Plug plug-and-play technology and a 21-pin NEM connector; sound-equipped variants include Tsunami2 sound with dual speakers and full DCC functionality, with CVs adjustable to create MU lashups and other configurations. Prototypical road-name and road-number details are reflected in the design, and the model is optimized for a 22-inch minimum radius for smooth operation on typical HO layouts.
