HO Genesis EMD SD50 Locomotive — CNW 7004 is an HO-scale replica of EMD’s 3,500-horsepower SD50, faithfully capturing the prototype’s long hood and updated design from the early 1980s. This Genesis model reflects the transitional era between Dash 2 units and later microprocessor diesels, providing a realistic centerpiece for a 1980s CNW roster on an everyday layout.

The model blends Genesis-grade detailing with solid running capability: a full cab interior, see-through cab windows, walkways, and finely made handrails, all mounted on a heavy die-cast frame for strong pulling power. The drivetrain uses a 5-pole skew-wound motor with precision flywheels and all-wheel drive for smooth, quiet operation, and it can be ordered as a DCC-ready unit with Quick Plug 21-pin NEM connector or as a sound-equipped version with onboard DCC decoder and Tsunami2 sound for authentic horn and engine audio. For CNW-specific appearance, this edition includes features such as a Leslie 3-chime horn, CNW triangular antenna, frame-mounted bell, Hyatt-bearing HTC trucks, a 4,500-gallon fuel tank, Xenon strobe effects in DCC, and late-frame details like vertical pilot cutouts and blunt anticlimbers, all faithful to the prototype’s as-delivered look.
