HO-scale ICC Wide-Vision Caboose for the Rio Grande (DRGW) is a highly detailed, ready-to-run model that reproduces the extended cupola wide-vision caboose used on U.S. railroads in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Designed for trailing-end service on freight trains, it provides authentic rear visibility, includes interior seating for crew figures, and features on-board LED lighting with DCC-compatible brightness control for realistic illumination without magnets.

Fully assembled and weighted for smooth operation, the model includes see-through end platforms, flush glazing, wire grab irons, etched metal coupler platforms, and underframe detail such as air brake components. It rides on machined metal wheels with RP25 contours and uses body-mounted scale couplers for prototypical handling. For Rio Grande service, this second-series wide-vision caboose design mirrors era-specific touches like a distinctive antenna and ventilation plate, plus a lit back-up light in DCC mode and separate marker lights to reflect different configurations; all functions are NMRA-compatible in DCC mode, with accurate roadname lettering and paint to match the prototype.
