HO GEN GP15-1 Locomotive Legendary Liveries SOU #5300 (ATHG-1893)

HO-scale GP15-1 Locomotive in Southern Legendary Liveries, SOU 5300, is a ready-to-run four-axle diesel-electric switcher from the Genesis line. This model recreates General Motors’ EMD GP15-1, built for yard and light road service between 1976 and 1982, and presented in Legendary Liveries—the exclusive paint schemes that celebrate iconic railroad looks. It’s an ideal addition for collectors or hobbyists building a Southern roster or aiming for prototypical mid‑era switcher operations on a layout.

Designed for HO layouts, this GP15-1 is packed with scale-detail and performance features, including a full cab interior, see‑through cab windows, windshield wipers, wire grab irons, MU hoses, and coupler cut levers. It is DCC-ready with a Quick Plug 21-pin NEM connector and uses a Genesis driveline with a 5-pole motor, precision flywheels, and a multi‑link drivetrain for smooth, quiet operation, plus all‑wheel drive and reliable electrical pickup. RP25 wheels ensure compatibility with popular tracks, while a heavy die-cast frame adds traction and pulling power. The model is scaled from prototype resources, accurately painted and printed, and fully assembled and ready to run. Some sound-equipped versions include an onboard DCC decoder with SoundTraxx Tsunami2 sound, dual speakers, and CV-based customization, with a CV chart included to tailor performance. The locomotive is suited for HO layouts and requires a minimum radius of 18 inches (22 inches recommended) for best results.
