HO GP15-1 Locomotive with DCC and Sound from the Athearn Genesis line is an HO-scale four-axle diesel-electric switcher designed for yard work and light road duties. It captures the compact, capable profile of EMD’s GP15-1 family, a versatile workhorse used in American yards during the late 1970s and early 1980s.

Inside, the model features an onboard DCC decoder with SoundTraxx Tsunami2 sound and dual speakers for clear engine, horn, and bell effects, with operation usable on both DC and DCC layouts and CV tweaks for customization. It rides on a heavy die-cast frame with a Genesis driveline, providing smooth, reliable performance thanks to all-wheel drive and electrical pickup, RP25 wheels, and LED lighting. Fully assembled and ready to run, this LTEX edition wears Conrail-era blue and black livery with road-number-specific details such as small EMD plows and a Nathan P-3 horn, plus lit number boards and ditch lights on the ends. A minimum radius of 18 inches is recommended (22 inches for best results).
