Based on prototype KO&G and MP cars within the Athearn Genesis line, it features road-name and road-number specific detailing and an integrated lighting package that can be controlled via DCC for realistic on-layout operation.

Fully assembled and ready to run, this model includes interior crew seating, see-through end platforms, etched metal window screens, wire-form grab irons, and full underframe detail. It rides on caboose trucks with rotating roller bearing caps, uses body-mounted McHenry knuckle-spring couplers, and is weighted for smooth operation with machined metal wheels. LED lighting supports long life and brightness control, and sound-equipped versions add an on-board DCC decoder (by NCE) for DCC and DC operation with lighting control.
