HO GEN SDP45 Locomotive with DCC and Sound NYC#4153 (ATHG-2039)

HO-scale SDP45 diesel locomotive from Athearn, designed to bring authentic 1960s-era passenger-hauling power to HO layouts. This NYC 4153 model, part of the Legendary Liveries line, recreates the iconic New York Central scheme in a ready-to-run, sound-equipped package. It includes a DCC decoder with Tsunami2 sound and dual speakers and runs on both DC and DCC layouts, with a 21-pin NEM plug for quick DCC setup.

On the track, the SDP45 delivers smooth, quiet operation thanks to a Genesis driveline, a 5-pole motor, and a heavy die-cast frame with all-wheel drive and reliable current pickup. Fine details include LED lighting, scale Celcon handrails, body-mounted McHenry knuckle couplers, and a detailed fuel tank. The model is NMRA CV-tunable for slow-speed control and full DCC functions when used in DCC mode, while engine, horn, and bell sounds are available in DC. A minimum 18-inch radius is recommended (22 inches or larger for best performance).
