HO-scale GE AC4400CW diesel locomotive in Norfolk Southern livery, NS 3990. This Athearn Genesis model faithfully recreates GE's AC4400CW with period-accurate detailing and paint, giving HO layouts a convincing centerpiece of a modern freight locomotive from the late 1990s into the early 2000s.

Designed for flexible operation on DC or DCC layouts, the model is DCC-ready with Quick Plug plug-and-play technology using a 21-pin NM connector for easy decoder installation. It features accurate prototype paint, LED lighting with illuminated number boards, ground lighting above the front truck, and walkway lights, plus see-through cab windows, a full cab interior, and etched walkway steps. The powertrain rides on a heavy die-cast frame with a Genesis driveline and a 5-pole motor for smooth, quiet pulling power, with all-wheel electrical pickup and RP25 wheel contours for reliable operation on common HO track. McHenry scale knuckle couplers are included and are compatible with Kadee. The model is designed for operation on HO radii of 18 inches or greater, with 22 inches recommended for best performance, and the packaging is built to protect the model during storage and transport.
