HO-scale GE AC4400CW diesel locomotive in GECX 4007 livery, from Athearn's Genesis line, this HO model faithfully reproduces a modern freight locomotive with prototype-accurate paint schemes and lighting. It is DCC-ready with a Quick Plug 21-pin NEM connector for easy control and optional sound installation, and it features LED lighting with illuminated number boards, ground lighting above the front truck, and illuminated walkway lights. See-through cab windows reveal a detailed interior, while etched walkway steps, fine handrails, and a detailed fuel tank with gauges and breather pipes contribute to a highly realistic appearance. A heavy die-cast frame provides the traction and heft to pull longer consists.

Under the hood, a Genesis drivetrain with a 5-pole skew-wound motor, precision flywheels, and a multi-link drive delivers smooth, quiet operation and reliable power pickup on all wheels. RP25 wheel contours offer solid track performance, and McHenry scale knuckle couplers are Kadee-compatible for easy handling in consists. The model reproduces road-number and scheme variations across multiple railroads (UP, CP, NS, FSRR, BNSF, GECX, and others), including grime-ready variants for weathering. Sound-equipped versions feature onboard DCC with SoundTraxx Tsunami2, dual speakers, and full NMRA-compatible functions (engine, horn, and bell work in both DC and DCC), while DC models support basic sounds as well. The locomotive requires a minimum 18 inches of track radius, with 22 inches recommended for best performance, making it a strong centerpiece for modern-era layouts.
