This HO-scale Genesis Big Boy steam locomotive with DCC and sound, paired with a CA-11 caboose with lights and sound, recreates Union Pacific’s legendary 4-8-8-4 power as a complete, ready-to-run model set. The locomotive features illuminated number boards and headlights, a reverse-off headlight, and a tender back-up light, along with authentic details such as operating eccentric cranks, adjustable cab vents and windows, and a boiler backhead with printed gauges. Pivoting front and rear engines help negotiate tight curves, while dual speakers deliver synchronized chuff, whistle, bell, blow-down, and other sounds via a SoundTraxx Tsunami2 decoder; it runs on DC or DCC with full function control and a durable loco-to-tender connection designed for reliable operation on layouts with a 22" minimum radius.

The CA-11 caboose adds roadname- and road-number-specific detailing, a fully detailed interior with conductor’s desk and facilities, and lighting with brightness control in DCC, including lit walkway lights, see-through end platforms, etched window screens, and underframe details. It rides on machined metal wheels with RP25 contours, is weighted for steady operation, and comes fully assembled with body-mounted McHenry scale knuckle-spring couplers. Some releases include the Snowbus variant of the caboose, which features enclosed end porches and an additional center porch light for a distinctive prototype look.
