HO GATC 2600 Airslide Covered Hopper CN #392002 (ATHG-2128)

GATC 2600 Airslide Covered Hopper is an HO-scale model that recreates the General American Transportation Company's 2600-cubic-foot airslide covered hopper, a bulk-carrier car used in mid-20th-century freight operations. The Airslide design uses an air-permeable bottom layer to fluidize the load for smoother discharge through the hopper outlets on a model railroad.

Three body styles are offered, with a highly detailed underbody and accurate outlet piping. The model includes rectangular or oval shaker brackets, gravity or gravity-pneumatic outlets, a see-through metal roof walk, factory-installed wire grab irons and brake piping, and separately applied round roof hatches with a brake wheel. It can be equipped with roller bearing or Bettendorf trucks and machined metal wheels with RP25 contours, and it is weighted for steady operation. Body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers ensure realistic coupling, while the shell is accurately painted and printed on a highly detailed injection-molded body. The minimum track radius is 18 inches, making it compatible with standard HO layouts.
