HO GATC 2600 Airslide Covered Hopper GACX Redpath #42362 (ATHG-2142)

HO-scale GATC 2600 Airslide Covered Hopper is a detailed reproduction of General American Transportation's 2,600-cubic-foot airslide hopper, designed for bulk-material service on HO layouts. The prototype uses Airslide technology to fluidize the load for easier unloading, a concept faithfully captured in the model's proportions and detailing.

Three body styles are represented, along with a detailed underbody and outlet piping, and features such as rectangular or oval shaker brackets, gravity or gravity-pneumatic outlets, and a see-through metal roof walk. Factory-installed wire grab irons and brake piping, plus separately applied round roof hatches and brake wheel, add realism. The model rides on machined metal wheels with RP25 contours on roller-bearing or Bettendorf trucks, is weighted for steady operation, and uses body-mounted McHenry knuckle couplers for reliable coupling. Accurate paint and printing enhance the look, while the injection-molded body is built for HO-scale performance on layouts with an 18-inch minimum radius.
