HO GEN F89-F Flat Car XTTX Yellow Model (ATHG-2233)

Athearn Genesis F89-F Flat Car, XTTX configuration in yellow – an HO-scale replica of Trailer Train's versatile F89-F flatcar. Introduced in the early 1960s, these cars carried trailers and other loads in TOFC and intermodal service, and this Genesis model captures that heritage with prototype-accurate details and multiple-era variants. The XTTX version features four hitches to accommodate different trailer lengths, reflecting the car’s flexible service and enabling authentic intermodal consists across decades.

Decorated and ready to run, this model combines a heavy die-cast underframe for stable tracking with a detailed deck, raised and lowered hitches, and 70-ton roller bearing trucks with spinning bearing caps. Machined metal wheels with RP25 contours roll on Code 55–100 rails, and body-mounted McHenry scale knuckle couplers with wire-formed brake plumbing and a brake ratchet add to the realism. The XTTX variant includes extra raised and collapsed hitches to model any configuration, with a minimum radius of 22 inches (24 inches or larger recommended). The model is weighted for smooth operation and pairs with Athearn’s line of 40', 45', and 53' trailers and various containers to recreate intermodal trains from the 1960s to today.
