The XTTX setup includes four hitches to handle different trailer lengths, with extra raised and collapsed hitches included to model configurations across eras.

Built around a heavy die-cast underframe with distinctive C-channel side sills, the model features a highly detailed deck, 70-ton roller bearing trucks with spinning bearing caps, and machined metal wheels. It includes wire-formed brake plumbing, a separately applied brake ratchet, and body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers for realistic handling. Decorated and ready to run, it is weighted for stable operation and suited for intermodal trains or mixed freight on HO layouts. The design supports a wide range of loads, with a minimum radius of 22 inches and a recommended radius of 24 inches or larger to ensure smooth, trouble-free operation.
