This HO-scale Santa Fe-liveried Athearn Genesis F89-F flat car is a faithful model of the classic Trailer-On-Flatcar design from the 1960s, built to haul trailers and other intermodal loads. The model captures the distinctive C-channel side sills and rugged build of the era, featuring a heavy die-cast underframe, raised and lowered hitches, and a detailed deck. With 70-ton roller bearing trucks sporting spinning bearing caps, machined metal wheels, and body-mounted scale knuckle couplers, it delivers reliable operation and realistic appearance right out of the box.

Designed to reflect multiple trailer configurations, the F89-F offers four hitches in the XTTX version plus extra raised and collapsed hitches to accommodate different trailer lengths. The injection-molded body, wire-formed brake plumbing, and separately applied brake ratchet enhance realism, while the model is weighted for stable tracking. It pairs with Athearn’s range of 40', 45', and 53' trailers and containers in various paint schemes for a complete intermodal scene. RP25-contoured machined wheels ensure compatibility with HO track codes 55 through 100, and a 22-inch minimum radius is specified (24 inches or larger recommended) for best performance.
