This HO-scale Athearn Genesis F89-F Flat Car in Santa Fe livery (ATSF 292138) recreates the classic Trailer Train-era F89-F flatcar, renowned for its distinctive C-channel side sills and versatility across TOFC, autorack, and other loads. Decorated and ready to run out of the box, it features a heavy die-cast underframe and 70-ton roller-bearing trucks with spinning bearing caps for smooth, reliable operation on modern layouts.

Designed for layout use from the 1960s to today, the F89-F carries four hitches in the XTTX configuration to handle different trailer lengths, with extra raised and collapsed hitches included to model any setup. The model includes raised and lowered hitches, a detailed deck, wire-formed brake plumbing, and machined metal wheels with body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers. RP25 wheel contours run on Code 55–100 rails, and the car is weighted for stable running. Minimum radius is 22 inches (24 inches or larger recommended).
