HO GEN F89-F Flat Car, WTTX 'Twin 45' (ATHG-2242)

Athearn Genesis HO-scale F89-F Flat Car in the WTTX Twin 45 configuration recreates a classic mid-1960s Trailer Train (TTX) flatcar. These versatile cars supported a variety of operations—from TOFC to automobile loading—and this decorated, ready-to-run model captures the look and functionality of that era, including its Twin 45 trailer setup. It’s suitable for layouts spanning the 1960s to today and pairs well with a wide range of intermodal equipment on HO layouts.

Decorated and ready to run out of the box, the model features a heavy die-cast underframe, raised and lowered hitches, and a detailed deck. It rides on 70-ton roller-bearing trucks with spinning bearing caps and machined metal wheels with RP25 contours that run on Code 55 through 100 rails. It includes wire-formed brake plumbing, a separately applied brake ratchet, and body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers. The XTTX version provides four hitches to accommodate different trailer lengths, with extra raised and collapsed hitches included, and the model is weighted for stable operation in intermodal or mixed-freight trains.
