The Athearn Genesis F89-F Flat Car in XTTX Yellow is a detailed HO-scale model designed for intermodal layouts, recreating the classic Trailer Train F89-F flatcar from the 1960s onward. Known for its distinctive C-channel side sills and its versatility in TOFC and other freight configurations, this model reflects the car’s varied service history. The XTTX version features four hitches to accommodate different trailer lengths, with extra raised and collapsed hitches included to model any configuration.

Practical details include a heavy die-cast body, raised and lowered hitches, a detailed deck, and separately applied wire grab irons and ladders. Machined metal wheels with RP25 contours run on Code 55 to 80 rails, and the model is weighted for smooth, trouble-free operation in both dedicated intermodal trains and mixed freight. Decorated, fully assembled models are ready to run out of the box and include a brake ratchet and body-mounted McHenry operating-scale knuckle couplers.
