N GEN F89-F Flat Car WTTX 'Twin 45' (ATHG-2273)

An N-scale model of the Athearn Genesis F89-F flat car in the WTTX Twin-45 configuration, designed to haul two 45-foot trailers back-to-back in intermodal service. Based on the mid-1960s Trailer Train fleet (now TTX Company), this car captures the era’s distinctive styling and versatile service to suit layouts spanning from that period to today.

Decorated and ready to run, the model features a heavy die-cast frame for dependable tracking, raised and lowered hitches, a detailed deck, and separately applied wire grab irons and ladders. Machined metal wheels with RP25 contours roll smoothly on Code 55 to 80 track, and body-mounted scale knuckle couplers ensure reliable operation. The F89-F can be configured in XTTX four-hitch layouts to model different trailer lengths, with extra raised and collapsed hitches included. It’s suited for intermodal trains or mixed freight on layouts, with a 22-inch minimum radius and a 24-inch or larger recommendation for optimum performance.
