HO ACF 4600 3-Bay Center Flow Hopper (ATHG15442)

HO-scale ACF 4600 3-Bay Center-Flow Hopper is a ready-to-run model that recreates the mid-1960s grain-car design from American Car and Foundry. In real service, these 4600 cubic-foot, three-bay Center-Flow hoppers carried bulk commodities such as grain and corn, using a rounded center-flow body to speed gravity unloading and to fit tight clearances without a traditional center sill. The model captures this iconic design with multiple road numbers to reflect fleet variety.

Delivered ready to operate, the model arrives fully assembled and accurately painted, with a highly detailed injection-molded body. It features three body styles—early, mid, and late—each with period-appropriate ladders and stiffeners, round or trough hatches, and a photo-etched roofwalk. Extras include separately applied wire grab irons and stirrup steps, a separate brake cylinder, valve and air reservoir with wire brake plumbing, and a separately mounted brake wheel. The car rides on screw-mounted Genesis 100-ton trucks with 36-inch machined metal wheels and animated spinning roller bearing caps, body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers, and weight for stable, reliable operation. Multiple road numbers provide realistic fleet variation for modelers.
