HO-scale F45 Locomotive with DCC and Sound, GN #434 is a highly detailed, ready-to-run model of EMD’s F45 cowl-unit built for HO layouts. It combines a heavy die-cast frame for strong pulling power with a faithful exterior that includes a full cab interior, see-through cab windows, and scale handrails. The model is available in DC and DCC configurations; the DCC-ready version uses Quick Plug technology with a 21-pin NEM connector, while the sound-equipped variant carries a SoundTraxx Tsunami2 decoder for authentic engine, horn, and bell sounds. RP25-wheel contours, body-mounted knuckle couplers, and other prototype details help it track smoothly and look right on most HO tracks.

GN-specific features include a Xenon beacon (active in DCC), high-mounted headlight, winterization hatch, 3-chime horn, firecracker antenna, and a small EMD plow. For sound-equipped models, the Tsunami2 decoder delivers realistic sound in both DC and DCC, with full DCC function control and refined slow-speed performance; CV changes can tailor the ride and a CV chart is included. It’s fully assembled and ready to run, designed for dependable operation on an 18" minimum radius (22" is recommended) and built with all-wheel drive for smooth pulling power and durable layout use.
