HO F45u Locomotive with DCC and Sound MKCX #5957 (ATHG18390)

An HO-scale F45u Locomotive with DCC and Sound, MKCX edition, is a detailed model designed for HO layouts. This ready-to-run diesel reproduces EMD’s F45 cowl locomotive and comes with an onboard DCC decoder and SoundTraxx Tsunami2 sound, delivering authentic engine, horn, and bell effects in DCC mode while remaining operable on DC layouts. The model features a full cab interior, see-through cab windows, wire grab irons, coupler cut levers, and fine-scale Celcon handrails, all mounted on a heavy die-cast frame for solid traction. A Genesis driveline with a 5-pole skew-wound motor, precision flywheels, and a multi-link drivetrain provides smooth, quiet operation, and RP25-contoured wheels ensure reliable performance on most HO track brands. Fully assembled and ready to run, it supports HO layouts with a minimum 18-inch radius and a recommended 22-inch radius for the smoothest curves.

MKCX edition adds Santa Fe styling cues including an ex-Santa Fe livery with markings removed, nose-mounted headlight, 3-chime horn on a bracket, roof-mounted air conditioning, and a passenger-service plow, along with an ATSF-style antenna setup. Walkway ditch lights, LED-equipped, enhance nighttime visibility. The model is DCC-ready with Quick Plug plug-and-play technology and a 21-pin NEM connector for easy DCC installation, and it supports full DCC functionality. Onboard sound and lighting operate in both DC and DCC, and many features are configurable via CV changes (CV chart included) to tailor operation to a given layout.
