HO Santa Fe F7A Locomotive #261L is an HO-scale replica of a Phase I F7A freight locomotive from the Santa Fe roster, designed to bring authentic late-era diesel power to model railroading. This detailed model captures core prototype features such as a freight pilot on the A-unit, 36-inch dynamic brakes, nose and rear lift lugs, dual single-note air horns, and back-up lights with red lenses, all presented in the blue-and-yellow Santa Fe freight scheme for realistic operation.

261L-specific refinements include modernized grab irons on the nose (side and top), cut skirts, F3-style chicken wire grills delivered without stainless grills, spark arrestors to reflect a later appearance (installation by the consumer), a can-style antenna, and an inertial air filter. In addition to prototype accuracy, the model embodies authentic F-unit detailing such as see-through cab windows with a full cab interior, etched metal fan grilles, body-mounted scale knuckle couplers (Kadee-compatible), and DCC-ready Quick Plug with a 21-pin NEM connector for easy digital setup.
