HO-scale Pennsylvania Railroad F5A/F5B Locomotive Set (PRR 9551A / 9551B) is a faithful two-unit reproduction for HO layouts, delivering a high-precision representation of late-1940s EMD F-units in PRR livery. The road-numbered A and B units reflect prototypes built in 1948–1949, with period-accurate details such as dynamic brakes, nose and rear lift lugs, dual single-note air horns on the A-units, back-up lights, train-phone antennas, and a passenger pilot on the A-units.

These models combine a heavy die-cast frame for traction with meticulous detailing—see-through cab windows with full interiors, etched metal fan grilles, wire grab irons, and a full suite of prototypical hardware. They ride on RP25 wheels with body-mounted scale McHenry-style couplers (Kadee-compatible) and are DCC-ready with Quick Plug plug-and-play and a 21-pin NEM connector. Sound-equipped versions feature an onboard DCC decoder with SoundTraxx Tsunami2, dual cube speakers, and separate sound boards in both A and B units, delivering engine, horn, and bell sounds that operate in both DC and DCC (some functions limited in DC). LED lighting provides directional brightness, with beacons or gyralights present where prototypically equipped. A CV chart is included for tuning, and minimum operating radius is 18 inches with 22 inches recommended for smooth running.
