HO-scale F3A Locomotive with DCC and Sound in Southern Pacific livery. This detailed model replicates Southern Pacific’s F3A units, including the bulldog-nose profile and era-accurate detailing. It features a DCC decoder with SoundTraxx Tsunami2 sound, dual cube speakers, and separate sound boards for the A and B units so engine, horn, and bell sounds operate in DCC (and still function for basic DC operation). The locomotive includes Phase II styling, slot-style dynamic brakes, dual single-note air horns on the A-units, a freight pilot, and as-delivered grab irons and skirts, plus see-through cab windows and full interior, etched metal fan grills, LED lighting, and a heavy die-cast frame for extra traction. A Genesis driveline with a 5-pole skew-wound motor and all-wheel drive delivers smooth, quiet pulling power, while body-mounted McHenry scale knuckle couplers (Kadee-compatible) ensure reliable coupling to rolling stock.

Designed for HO layouts, this model is DCC-ready with Quick Plug plug-and-play technology via a 21-pin NM connector and can operate on both DC and DCC. It supports multiple-unit lashups with lead-unit horn, bell, and lights, and CVs let you tailor sound and lighting (a CV chart is included). Prototypical lighting effects such as beacons and gyralights are replicated where appropriate, and the minimum radius is 18 inches (22 inches recommended for best performance).
