HO F3A Locomotive with DCC and Sound PRR #9531A (ATHG19682)

This HO-scale Pennsylvania Railroad F3A diesel locomotive with DCC and sound (PRR 9531A) is designed for authentic operation on HO layouts. It captures late-1940s F-unit styling, including the bulldog-nose profile and see-through cab windows, delivering a convincing, ready-to-run replica for both display and realistic running in freight or passenger service.

PRR 9531A is a Phase IV F3A with era-appropriate detailing such as dynamic brakes, lift lugs, dual horns, back-up lights, and antennas. The model features a heavy die-cast frame, LED lighting, and accurately detailed components, including see-through cab interiors and etched grills. It is equipped with body-mounted, Kadee-compatible couplers and RP25 wheels for reliable track performance, and, in sound-equipped versions, includes an onboard DCC decoder with SoundTraxx Tsunami2 and dual speakers for authentic engine, horn, and bell sounds operable on both DC and DCC. A CV chart is provided to tailor performance, and the design draws from prototype drawings and measurements to capture the late-1940s PRR look; the unit is DCC-ready with a Quick Plug 21-pin NEM connector, with minimum 18" (22" recommended) radii for smooth operation.
