HO F7B Locomotive with DCC & Sound, EMD Demo #7003 is an HO-scale replica that captures the look and feel of a classic EMD F-unit while delivering modern digital control and onboard sound. This model includes an onboard DCC decoder with SoundTraxx Tsunami2 sound and dual cube speakers for authentic engine, horn, and bell effects, operable on both DC and DCC layouts. It features see-through cab windows with a full cab interior, along with prototype-accurate detailing such as etched grills, wire grab irons, and lit signaling where applicable. Body-mounted McHenry scale knuckle couplers are Kadee-compatible for easy lashups with other equipment.

Built on a heavy die-cast frame with Blomberg-B trucks and RP25 wheel contours, it delivers solid traction and smooth operation on a wide range of layouts. Quick Plug DCC with a 21-pin NEM connector makes setup straightforward, and the model carries a minimum radius of 18 inches (22 inches recommended) for reliable curves. Some functions may be limited when running in DC, but in DCC mode all functions are NMRA-compatible and support MU lashups with lead-unit horn and lights, with lighting effects such as beacons where prototypically accurate. A CV chart is included to help tailor performance to a specific layout.
