Amtrak California Bi-Level Intercity Cars with Lighting and Sound is a four-car HO-scale set that faithfully recreates Amtrak's iconic California Car fleet for intercity service. These models come in both lighting-only and sound-equipped options, featuring long-life LED lighting, tinted windows, and highly detailed interiors that vary by car type—from cab cars to coaches and a cafe car—with accurate exterior painting in licensed Amtrak colors. Each car includes end detailing, train-line hoses, HEP receptacles, and McHenry scale knuckle couplers on RP25 wheels for reliable operation on common HO tracks.

Powered by an on-board electronics package, the set uses an NCE DCC decoder for operation in DCC or analog DC, with lighting controlled in DCC. The sound-equipped variants use a Tsunami SoundCar decoder with authentic sounds recorded from Surfliner cars, including A/C operation, doors opening and closing with beeps, PA announcements, vacuum toilet operation, rail clatter, brake sounds, and a cab-car horn and bell; interior LEDs illuminate both levels, and cab cars feature working headlights and flashing ditch lights. Interiors feature careful color separation for floors, walls, seats, and control areas, delivering a highly realistic HO-scale depiction of the California Car lineup.
