HO 50' PC&F Ex-Post Box BNSF Model (ATHG26885)

An HO-scale model of a 50-foot Pacific Car & Foundry Ex-Post insulated boxcar in BNSF livery, designed for HO model railroad layouts. Insulated boxcars were used to protect temperature-sensitive cargo, and this rendition recreates mid-century freight scenes with prototype-accurate side panels and door styles for authentic detail.

It includes separate wire grab irons and etched coupler platforms, full underframe detail with an air brake reservoir, control valve and brake cylinders with plumbing, and is weighted for steady operation. The model rides on trucks with rotating bearing caps, and features lift bars, trainline hoses, brake hoses, and body-mounted scale knuckle couplers. Machined metal wheels with RP25 contours help it track smoothly on common HO track, and the finish is accurately painted and printed to reflect prototypical BNSF appearance. A minimum turning radius of 18 inches is recommended, with 22 inches ideal for best performance.
