HO G2 AC4400CW CNW #8831 is an HO-scale, fully assembled, ready-to-run locomotive that faithfully reproduces GE’s AC4400CW in Chicago & Northwestern colors. This CNW unit wears the Lighting Stripe scheme with Operation Lifesaver markings on the long hood and reflects early CNW styling—from the desk-style control stand to the bolted fuel tank and front ditch lights. Designed to haul long coal trains, these units were a familiar sight pulling heavy loads out of the Powder River Basin, and this model captures that rugged, in-service character with accurate detailing and prototype markings.

Under the shell, the AC4400CW delivers authentic performance through a Genesis drive system with a 5-pole skew-wound motor and a heavy die-cast frame that provides solid traction and smooth operation. It’s built to fit modern layouts with DCC-ready Quick Plug plug-and-play technology using a 21-pin NEM connector, and LED lighting tuned to lifelike levels, including illuminated number boards and front/rear walkway lights. The model features see-through cab windows and a full cab interior, etched walkways, brass horns, wire grab irons, and flexible hoses, plus McHenry scale knuckle couplers compatible with Kadee. Some versions offer onboard DCC sound with SoundTraxx Tsunami2 and dual speakers for engine, horn, and bell sounds, while the design also serves as an excellent base for weathering to recreate an in-service CNW locomotive.
