Ferromex ordered these units with GE-style self-steering trucks to reduce track wear and boost traction around curves, and this model faithfully reproduces that setup. The detailing includes a large plow, low-mount number boards, pilot-mounted ditch lights, illuminated number boards, etched walkways, and a see-through cab, finished with careful paint and a full cab interior for a convincing prototype feel.

On the layout, the locomotive is built for modern control systems and easy installation.
