Southern Pacific HO U50 Locomotive No. 9952 is a faithful HO-scale replica of SP's 5,000-horsepower U50, created by pairing two 2,500-horsepower prime movers on a single chassis. The model captures the locomotive’s distinctive double-engine design with a tall cab and blunt nose, delivering a commanding presence on freight assignments along the Sunset Route. Measuring 83 feet 6 inches long and 15 feet 10 inches tall, it rides on a heavy die-cast frame and is ready to run on standard HO track.

On the rails, it features illuminated truck lights, classification lights, and number boards, plus see-through air intakes and a full cab interior for a lifelike appearance. Sound-equipped versions pair an onboard DCC decoder with SoundTraxx Tsunami2 and four speakers, delivering authentic engine, horn, and bell sounds in both DC and DCC mode.
