HO-scale Union Pacific Gas Turbine Locomotive with DCC and Sound, UP 51, is a detailed HO model of GE’s postwar gas-turbine locomotive designed for serious layout use and display. It recreates UP 51’s distinctive tall nose door and handrails and features the era’s gray trucks and FARR air grilles for an authentic early turbine look.

Inside, a Genesis driveline with a 5-pole skew-wound motor, precision flywheels, and a multi-link drivetrain ensures smooth, reliable operation. The sound-equipped version features a SoundTraxx Tsunami2 decoder with four cube speakers for authentic engine, horn, and bell sounds that operate in both DC and DCC, with full DCC functionality. A 21-pin harness is installed for easy DCC setup. The model is finished with razor-sharp painting and printing and McHenry scale knuckle couplers, and it's built to handle 18-inch minimum curves (22-inch curves recommended). It ships fully assembled and ready to run on a layout or display, reflecting the prototype’s postwar GE gas-turbine design and UP’s early turbine service.
